Choosing Your Security Blueprint Recommended Physical Security Installation Phases SECURING YOUR ENTIRE HOME (ALL AT ONCE OR GRADUALLY) Securing your home can be difficult if you don’t have your priorities right. Your domestic security needs should be determined by your “Security Risk Profile” and nothing else, not even your budget! (There are certain things you cannot afford not to afford)...Securing your home is not just a question of protecting the front and back doors... If you feel the need to secure your home you should be protecting each and every opening (total security), otherwise you are only fooling yourself! If you cannot afford to do it all right away, you need to do it in stages that make sense, that will provide your family with optimum security for what you can afford at the time. Following is an outline of the phases we recommend you do your domestic security in. Phase 1: The Inscape Door Ask yourself: What is it that I want to protect? My family or my possessions? Also ask yourself: When does my family feel at their most vulnerable and are they most fretful? When they are in bed at night! (Second most dangerous time next to arriving or departing from the house). This is a time they should have peace of mind so that they can have revitalising rest... The 1st phase involves fitting an “Inscape Door” (security door with a Slamlock) somewhere in the passage or other suitable position to effectively isolate the sleeping quarters from the rest of the house. The “Inscape Door” allows you to escape into a safe zone. You can escape into your home! The ”Inscape Door” does not only protect your family at night but can also help them get away from a life threatening situation.
Phase 2: The Safety Cocoon The Safety Cocoon is created by protecting all the windows and other openings on the bedroom side of the “Inscape Door”. This provides substantial security while your family is sleeping at night. A burglary could actually take place in the living area of the house (where many valuables, desirable to thieves, are situated) without it posing any physical threat to your family as they are shielded from harm.
Phase 3: The Front and Back Doors Your front and back doors, fitted with expandable security barriers with Slamlocks, can also serve as “Inscape doors”. Any family member can escape a potentially dangerous situation outside by running into the house, slamming the “Inscape Door” closed, so doing creating an instant barrier between them and the potential danger.
Phase 4: The rest of the House Now your entire home is fully secured with a mix of expandable security doors, roller shutters and window grills, to provide you total peace of mind.
Phase 5: “Protected by Maxidor” Board With one or more “Protected by Maxidor” boards visibly displayed on your perimeter wall or fence, you advertise the fact that your home is fully secured. Most would-be intruders stay away from properties perceived to be difficult to break into and go for easier targets. Prevention is better than cure! It is the best kind of security!
Important note: “What happens in the case of fire? How will anyone escape the fire if the house is so well secured? These are good questions. Please here for the answer! |
